My brother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law and my wife's uncle are all diabetic, and I suspect it might only be a matter of time before my wife is diagnosed - but at least she has enough knowledge to manage the condition if it occurs.

I do know one or two diabetics who WONT manage their condition for whatever reason - one of whom is barred from holding a license.
My father-in-law is the only one who has to have his license qualified every three years, but I guess that is the reason for the bar.
The original post would appear to involve somebody who for some reason did not take precautions - I cannot understand why. :(

Having two children, my car is ALWAYS equipped with drink and something to eat, and a bag of sweets, a sick bag, and a change of clothes! :)
Now spare AA batteries for games consoles are an essential bit of kit too! :D
