Just one question at the top of the "Safe2Travel" site, top right hand of the window....

I voted, and was pleasantly surprised to find I had voted with the majority! :)

You should all take a look at this display of openness from Lancs!

Interesting use of words (yet again)

It says here "http://www.safe2travel.co.uk/more_info.asp?current_id=84"

Quote "it has been proven that safety cameras make people drive slower and as a direct result, reduce crashes and help protect road users"

They can't say "it has been proven that safety cameras reduce crashes and help protect road users" because there's never been a scientific trial of speed cameras, therefore no proof of that. But they can prove the lower speeds and hope the public buy the implication of safer roads.

Actually, now that I read it again, although I can see they have tried to bend they words to make the claim as solid as they can, I think they HAVE actually overstated their case. If they are stating that "proof" exists of safety cameras reducing crashes then they are LYING.

Try the game on their website.

Driving at the limit, I drove round some roadworks, crashed, and got told off for driving on the wrong side of the road.

Next thing I know, this low speed collision has killed 4 people.

If they're gonna try and make a point, at least show enough of the road in advance so that driving at 30 is "safe".

Next time I stopped for the road works and got crashed into :(.

That game is funny :D Funnily enough, I drove in excess of the speed limit the whole time and got to work on time in one piece  On those kind of town streets though I can appreciate a need for a speed limit because there are constant and unrelenting hazards. Although you can't see ahead on that game so it makes it harder than it need be :x I am sure it is rigged in a hilariously incompetent way as well like letting you crash when you go at 30 and stopping your control of the car randomly when you exceed the limit. There are roads though with rediculously low limits though and that is what I am against, as well as having a speed limit on the motorway, but that's for a whole 'nother topic
