hi all

My local council is giving the chance for residents to have their say towards the LTS 2006 review. Take a look at the document and see how anti-car it really is, also look at question 3 and see if you can figure out the least significant number required based on 1 being most significant choice for each transport issue. They don't state what it is.

I'm also wary that they have not included any requirement for the person to fill in their name and address hence they [council] can ignore the have your say's that they don't like?

I'd say that about sums it up.

You have to understand that "consultation" is only being paid lip service to conform to "Open Government" requirements. It's just needed for them to get funding. They really don't care what you think and will go ahead with their plans anyway.

It's all a sham.

Oh i'm well aware they won't take a blind bit of notice but feel that I need to express my feelings towards their arrogant self-centred beliefs anyway :D

I will be enclosing a personal letter with the consultation and demand a receipt when I personally deliver in to the council.

From my conversation with local authorities I get the impression that they like people to have an opinion, but that it must be the same as theirs!

Am I missing something in Q5?????

"Reduce dependence on cars by centralising jobs and services" :? :?

Errr.

That, to me, means increased congestion with more people trying to get to more offices in the same place at the same time!!!! And we all know that the chance of more bus services to accommodate these "centralised" commuters is about the same as the chance of Pagani deciding to build an MPV........

.........

Pagani don't build MPV's, but if they did it would probably be the best MPV in the world :D
