Can anyone else access the CSCP forums at the moment? It was fine this morning, yet now I'm getting a 'permission denied' error. I've not posted anything controversial over the past few days, so I'm a bit confused if I have been banned...

Dunno, same here so I imagine it's just broken.

I just pinged an e-mail to "admin..." . It looks to me suspisciously like it's been pulled deliberately.

I'm getting a "login screen", which never used to come up unless I asked to "Log-in", and then am getting a message saying that I have no access.

Maybe they're going through some kind of death-throes... :-(

Or maybe it's just temporarily broken :-)

Like Paul, I'd be sorry to see it go, even though the level of serious response from the CSCP folks is often pretty poor.

I'm getting a log on screen which does not allow me to logon, I removed cookies, swapped browser and changed ip address - and am getting the same response, it looks like they may have pulled it, strange that there is still a link to the forums off the front page really.

I expect they may purge all the forums and bring it back on for selected people to sing the praises of cameras, anyone got a copy of the unanswered questions thread?

Cheers

Paul

Try again now.

It's working fine, for me, at any rate.

Can't understand why none of you can access.

Nope - can't get it.

If it really is working for you, Hanbo, can you do us all a big favour and take a snapshot of the whole forum system? I used to have a tool to do this but I can't find it now .. grrrrrr

Eh? wouldn't know how to do that, I'm no good at the techy side of these things.

BTW, when you say you can't access, do you mean to post, or just read?

I'm not registered there so if I've mis-led you on this I'm sorry.

We can see the website, but not the forums. Can't see to read, post - or anything.

I get an error of "Sorry, you are not permitted to use this board" when i connect directly.

Using an anonymous proxy, it works fine. My gut reaction is all anti-camera posters have been IP banned.

I can see them OK.

Perhaps it's the user base that's blown up?

Try viewing the forum from a different browser or delete your login cookie.

If anyone wants to download the forums the software is often called a "web spider". I don't have one installed or handy.

This your latest post, Dated Jan 15 2005, 11:34 AM ?

Make it cool for kids to have lights on their bikes. I wouldn't mind if they flashed or were pink, as long as the kids wanted to use them...

Agreed. I think this is another bad consequence of enforcing the letter of the law, rather than using common sense. When I used to have a bike, the bright LED lights on them came with a warning not to use them on public roads in the UK as it might lead to prosecution.

Not registered on CSCP but like to have a chuckle at Steve's latest pearls of wisdom.

Going to www.cumbriasafetycameras.org/forum/ as i aways have done and tells me

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

The error returned was:

Sorry, you are not permitted to use this board

Looks like they not want general public looking, must be getting rid of all messages they don't agree with, not going to leave much!

I just accessed it from a completely unrelated machine (located in Germany) and got the same "Sorry, you are not permitted to use this board" message. Doesn't work on any browser I have here.

There is definately an error on the board.

Perhaps itschampionman could work a bit of his magic.

I've just come back from there!

Reading up the posts, (older ones) and having a good laugh at some of the road safety slogans.
