Does anyone know if the Speed Cameras at Ings are active as I think they are empty boxes, at least they appear to be in the right light.
Just curious.

SSShhhhhh!!

THEY dont want everyone to know!!!!

I want to know what the strip of yelow tape is hanging out the back of the Windermere end camera!!

Classic today - long line of traffic heading towards Kendal at between 35 -45 mph from Bannerigg to the rabbit farm.
Lead car, a red hatchback slowed to 25 mph in the 40 limit. Managed 30 at the cameras, THEN, the two vehicles behind it, used the right turning lane for Ings and the filling station TO OVERTAKE the red hatch, before pulling back in, and racing off into the distance!!! :o
Kevin did'nt see it - he was too busy doing a guest spot on Radio Cumbria at the time!

Of course I would not take much notice of this - they still have'nt put up the figures for April - and it's nearly the end of May!
They were obviously busy on the forum here today. It must have been difficult to fit everything in when they had to moderate their own forum!

I suppose that we're going to get all sexist now and suggest that, for one week in every four, the damned thing will nick you for doing 30.0001 mph! :-)

If the Whinash turbines get turned down or curtailed, maybe they could put one up next to the cameras at Ings - they seem to be short of an electricity supply at present. :?

Just as long as they dont mess up the kerbstones like they did when they put the cameras in!! :x

I see they found the sign they had lost - apparently somebody had attacked it with a hammer before ripping it off the post.
Probably thought if it went to court, they could claim there was no warning sign. :o
If only they had known the camera was'nt working anyway!

I've asked the Highways Authority to cut back the bush which was obscuring both the limit sign, and the new speed camera warning sign. :) Would'nt want anyone not to see the limit if a bus was passing and blocked the far side sign view, then get a ticket!!

Nah... that time of the month is when they do you for 28mph. It doesn't matter what you did, it was wrong. :D

Do you reckon they turned it off so that when road deaths are up yet again they can just say 'we expected this, some of the cameras had to be turned off' :?

I dunno, it was just something one of the Ings residents sent out by text!

They used to send out a text message when the cameras were there - now they just send jokes about the boxes on the posts!
