good god, what force is this, do you mean DACS or CRIB? You may have gotten your information from one particular force, this doesn’t mean it’s that way nationwide.

Statutory Charging and CPS Direct

Working closely with police colleagues as The Prosecution Team, the CPS successfully introduced Statutory Charging in all 42 Areas almost one year ahead of schedule.

Operating at the very heart of the criminal justice system, ........
................ the CPS.

An integral part of Statutory Charging is CPS Direct, a national out-of-hours telephone service that allows police to access Charging advice through the night and at weekends, 365 days a year. During 2006-07, over 130 CPS Direct prosecutors handled 183,034 calls and provided 127,911 advices and charging decisions (source - Departmental Report 2007). CPS Direct is, in effect, a 'virtual' 43rd Area, headed by a CCP.

It appears that big-si's account has been deactivated, or I have been banned.

As it turns out I didn't type that message to HA, a friend did it.

However freedom of speech is a value that is dear to out great country.

So here is my right to reply:

1 - I am no longer a PCSO

2 - PM's are Private messages and as such should not be published. I chose not to respond and publish the message HA sent to my inciting my friends retort sentiments I disagree with, however using the tragic death of a child to score points is disgraceful behaviour.

3 - I take great exception to posts being made which may identify where I live. I choose to remain anonymous for a reason; That being there are people out there who have great disdain for the Police and make efforts to find out where they and their families live. And as such I am requesting moderators / site admin remove these posts made by HA

4 - After HA's recurring rant I chose not to come to this forum again, several months later HA chose to send me a message. I notice that that particular message has not been published in this little corner of the internet, which is why I have rejoined in order to have my say, which I feel is only fair.

5 - I understand that I have probably breached this forums code by re-registering and as such will more than likely be banned again.
It is of little consequence to me, however as in an earlier post I should have the opportunity to have my say.

6 - I feel that I have been tried and convicted without being given the opportunity of pleading my case and as such feel justified in breaching forum rules.

7- I wish to apologise for my friends comments it was made after drinking and as a retort to a provocative message from HA.

Thankyou
Ex PCSO big-si

Hi big_si.

The administration team apologise for the apparent disabling of your account.

While investigating allegations, routine administration resulted with a temporary blockage of your account; you were not suspended or banned.

Our subsequent investigation showed that honestandy had indeed instigated the abuse; I did check his sentbox when I was verifying the PM, needless to say it wasn’t there.
We decided not to disclose this publicly, especially as you hadn’t lodged a complaint. I hope you understand that it wouldn’t have been right for us to publish his PM too. Honestandy’s PM, coupled with his behaviour, resulted with the final warning being issued to him; he didn’t get away with it. We left it at that.

We will return access to your account if you wish.

As for point 3:
I suspect honestandy didn’t post anything that isn’t already in the public domain which can be found by anyone wishing to find you, I won’t look through 30 pages of rant to find such instances. If you feel he has posted something specific not in the public domain then please PM me with the detail and I will deal with it.
We respect everybody's right to remain anonymous.

I hope you understand that allowing friends use our accounts to send abusive PMs doesn’t make doing so any more acceptable.
However, in light of the full facts we don't feel there is any need to take action against you. You were not excluded so your re-registering to ‘have your say’ is not a problem.

I hope you appreciate that the administrators have tried to be as even-handed as possible.

Steven

Out of interest, why did you leave the PCSO service? <feel free not to answer if it is personal, but I am interested>

Hi Roger
For a number of reasons, my employer re-evaluated the scale and "awarded" us a drop in salary of 5.5k, we were being asked to do jobs beyond our remit without the necessary powers and protective equipment, the tragedy in Wigan did nothing to enhance the public opinion of us and little was done by either the union or the force to counteract that.

The job itself is a fantastic one, however it has been badly implemented by the Home Office and Forces themselves.

Often we were being asked to perform duties beyond our role including late night disorder patrol, this is often a patrol in which you will encounter some form of violence, either towards yourself or a member of the public.

In relation to working with speed guns, PCSO's are not designated by the Home Secretary with the power to issue endorsable fixed penalty notices for moving traffic offences and as such I never did this. I did however use a speed gun as a deterrent. In the village I worked the main community issue which was raised at the community meetings was that of speeding, I don't know if you know Derbyshire, but the road from Buxton to the Cat and Fiddle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat_and_Fiddle_Road
Is massively popular with bikers and has been classified in the past as the most dangerous road in Britain, so a high vis presence with the gun as a deterrent was often a duty I would undertake. I viewed it as a necessary role, I was answering my community's call for action against excessive speed through the village, certainly locals wre pleased to see me and would often bring me a cup of tea!

I am saddened to leave the Police I would have served for 14 years in January (10 as a PC) and in that time have had a great time however the call to Canada is too great and so I emigrate in the New Year to start a career as a police officer over there.

Hi Bob,

Best of luck with the move to Canada mate, you'll love it over there (not that I'm biased :D ) Where will you be serving?

You mention that you were a 'real' PC for 10 years before becoming a PCSO. How common is that? It strikes me as a much better idea to have 'retired' officers filling the role than Bloggs off the street with minimal training.

Finally, as you have left the service I hope you feel comfortable answering this, but just ignore it if you don't: Can you swim, and would you have?

Yes I can swim, and I don't know probably but not certainly, the so called pond is actually a flooded quarry pit, so I don't know is the honest answer

Be a good chap and take a look around the forum Honestandy. Then ask yourself whether now is a good time to be continueing your pathetic bickering and carping against PCSOs eh?

The cheap pot shots at various members (regardless of who they are) is behaviour below that expected from any poster.

Despite our numerous warnings and that he was on ‘final warning’ status for such behaviour, the moderating team have decided to suspend honestandy’s account.

The decision was not influenced by recent events.
