I have got a NIP today dated 01/08/06 to me as the registered keeper relating to an offence on the 01/06/06.

I was personally driving my own car on the day of the offence.

Do I have a case considering they only posted it 2 months after the offence?

Thanks Hayley

If the facts are accurate, that's a very good position.

- Are you 100% sure you're registered keeper? Have you got the V5? Do you buy VED discs?

- Does the documents have 'reminder' anywhere on it? It's arived at about the right time for a reminder. If they can prove that they sent (yes sent) the 'original' within 14 days they can still win.

Most of the time when I hear this story, there's an error in the material facts undermining the 'winning position'.

Whatever you do, DON'T be in a rush to fill it in or send it back.

This has raised a can of worms. I thought I was the registered keeper and now found I am not as the people who were meant to ensure I was didn't do it *sighs*

Guess I am stuck with it.

Although on the 2nd point it wasn't a reminder.

Good advice. Have a look especially at the 'PACE witness statement.' :yesyes:
