I have to say that these PCSO threads are becoming uttter b0ll0cks!

there is no point, rhyme or reason to them.

I understood where andy was coming from to start with but now I'm completely lost.

whatever they are they don't belong in this forum, maybe soap box.

This one should be nuked though beacuse it serves no purpose.

Both sides appear to be incapable of anything appraoching reasoned debate on this issue.....i hope it's because emotions are too high!


I suggest a couple of new threads are formed along the lines of

1: should a PCSO be allowed to operate a camera

2: PCSO good or bad?

etc

But very closely moderated!

Otherwise this is all a complete waste of valauble pixels

At best I'd say you've probably failed the entrance test for PCSO at worst you're a troll. Anyway I don't believe you.

Having readyourposts in detail, it's easy to see when you get riled, because you panic, and type somthing in to attract attention elsewhere, like your disabled wife, your kid being ill in hospital, you flex your muscles (C&R). Ignore some very pertinent points, refuse to answer questions, etc, etc, etc

I really can't be bothered with you. I don't suffer fools gladly and thankfully I won't be suffering you at all, again.

So post what you want dishonestandy, dig up all the old news articles you want. In fact have a look on www.nationalpcso.co.uk, lots of material on there.

Because Andy we've quantified all we've said, we've evidenced it, hell you even know our job title.

All you'vedone is claim to be a prison officer, then denied it, then said you work in a specialist team, in a secure establishment (but don't work )nights) Drive an IRV and have done some courses, which even I've done

That’s what I have read on the Net, it sure isn’t like that where I work!
Here is a basic list of what we do here and just for reference they are all force policy, not just because we fancy making work for ourselves, if we weren’t here a PC would have to do it.
1. CCTV collections and booking in to property stores
2. Exhibits collections and booking in to property stores
3. Neighborhood disputes
4. Neighborhood meetings
5. Resident meetings
6. Tenants associations meetings
7. Transport witnesses to the ID suit
8. On occasion drive prison vans to and from custody
9. Burglary visits (giving burglary packs with an explanation of how to secure property UV mark and post code mark expensive items
10. Collect and book in drugs from clubs etc
11. Area searches for Missing persons “Mispers”
12. Scene Guards (that’s a biggie)
13. Serve ASBO’s, Injunctions, Exclusion Notices
14. Remove and await collection for stolen motor vehicles
15. Await collection for abandoned vehicles
16. Traffic control and clearing up the road surface at road traffic accidents
17. Await board-up for houses that have had doors put in or criminal damage/burglaries where properties are insecure and the owners are not around.
18. Assist crowd control and traffic control for demonstrations and marches
19. Drive around PC’s with no licenses or officers not BDA trained
20. House to House inquiries for burglaries, car break-ins/attempt car beark-ins, assaults, damage, robberies etc
21. Enquiries at pawn shops regarding recently stolen property.
22. Submitting intelligence reports
23. Deliver flyers/police literature
All of the above and not forgetting the usual tasks we are expected to deal with as and when.
• Street drinkers
• Rough sleepers
• Beggars
• Graffiti/fly posting
• Youth disorder on Friday/Sat nights, taking kids home, to the nick, waiting with them till mum and dad pick them up, seizing beer and fags from them
• Regular Operations dealing with anything from High Viz to drinking in the street, youth problems, school Ops,
• Dealing with cyclists on pavements
• Removing vehicles obstructing people’s driveways, obstructing the roads etc.
• Drunks asleep in the street
• Assisting in RTC’s administering first Aid
• Collecting weapons for knife and gun amnesties etc
• Collecting statements from Security Guards who write their own and bringing it back for the PC’s
• Dealing with anything we walk in to on the street (very time consuming)
All of this plus being the eyes and ears of our force, taking any info we get from public, problems they have and acting on them.
That’s why I get a little annoyed when I hear PC’s and random people (again not in my area and my nick) stating all we do is sit in the office on the internet, then go for a walk and wonder around aimlessly till the shifts over.
It’s just not like that here! And that’s before these Standard Powers come in and we get more powers/responsibilities/jobs.

By the way, a TROLL = a person who goes on a website, talks about something they know nothing about, talks crap as if it’s gospel, insults people, uses large multicolored font to express his rage. Just incase Andy thinks a Troll is a swear word and goes off on one asking for people to be banned as there swearing at him in German.

Andy you have been asked to post the letter of receipt from the force you complained to, they always send this letter, it will have the forces stamp on it, so you should have received one, it was suggested that you blank out the sensitive part i.e. your name address etc.

You have failed to do this, even though it would have proven you were not making this whole thing up and making PCSO’s look bad.

Well, will you post it? Nope, not even to the mod’s, not in a million years, why? Because it doesn’t exist, hence being called a liar. (justified me thinks)

End of the day, not a single person in here as any real idea of what PCSO’s do other than dog poo….. quick quote I found on a PCSO’s blogg may explain they do a little more than fine people for letting dogs poo (which by the way, some people really think is a horrible thing to step in, something should be done about it and someone has to do it)

Stick to speeding offences, you know a lot, granted, nothing about PCSO’s whatsoever, and little on Law and order, except what you read in the Anti-newspapers.
There are no PCSO’s in here, other than Si, there are no PC’s/Ex PC's in here again, other than Si.

We’ve heard your uneducated opinions, I’ve never met anyone who hated a job more than you, I’m going to have to agree with Si here, your defiantly be a failed PCSO applicant, I hear the test and recruitment is pretty similar to a PC’s nowadays, so don’t feel so bad.

Please continue to enjoy the forums - but try not to wind HA up too much!

When that spat is dealt with, I hope we can genuinely see each side's perspective in less abrasive terms. There is quitr a bit of common ground.
