I think that was my argument for speed cameras, wasn’t it.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I used government stats, you all said, but how can they be accurate, were against it because you just cant estimate….. ow how the tables have turned.

In an attempt to save some time, if anyone has the stats on the number of accidents in the UK in 2006 or 2005, both from insurance companies and from Police reported accidents combined please let me know.

Otherwise I fear I will be google'ing for a few more hours.

My assumption (which is yet to be proven I admit) is that there is a much larger number if these two stats are comprehensively combined (so not including one stat twice)

Which would prove a very simple point, that there are many accidents are not included in the stats we are discussing, therefore it is not accurate, its an indication perhaps, but not accurate beyond all doubt.

Which was SS’s main argument AGAINST the stats used in the “Speed Kills” campaigned.

Hypocrisy in my eyes.

I would ask which government statistics the 5% current figure or the scammerships 30%, but to be honest, I'm no longer interested.

After 25 pages in this thread, mostly filled by posts from you, me, bi si and HA, and, as none of us are members I feel that we have probably abused our welcome, by using up Safespeeds resources with our non member posts. If the paid up members wish to continue this thread I may add comment again, but I feel it inappropriate to continue what was in effect a private argument, on a site of which I am not a paid up member.

No way. Everyone is welcome here so long as they can constructively contribute in some way; your knowledge and application of law makes your input particularly valuable (outside of the PCSO threads anyway). I’m sure I speak for all members and users when I say I hope to see more of you, member or not.

The mudslinging seems to have subsided nicely now. Very happy for this to continue personally - especially if it seems to be getting somewhere.

2 main points, 1. if speeding is so dangerous how is telling me i have been naughty up to 14days after wards going to help? 2. looking at the statistics, and swallowing the government message, then unreported accidents can't be serious and beacuse they aren't serious then speed can not have been a cause as after all we all know

Perhaps the case in (i think wolverhampton) might be a good example.
I know that the taxi was not accused of breaking the limit.
But consider what would happen ---
1) in todays camera society - taxi exceeds limit, gets flashed hits pedestrian , carries on for a goodly distance.
2) taxi exceeds limit , stopped by trafpol - before hitting pedestrian .

Not exactly what happened - but what COULD happen.

What a waste of money when there is so much yob behaviour, teenagers being shot on our streets... then you have 13000 bluecaps ..wasted police resources on powerless, staff roaming around in gangs doing well NOTHING !!

Speeding, how does speeding a little justify having these people roaming round looking to target honest law abiding people.

Then come and see us about 8 mph allegedly over the SPEED LIMIT !!!!!

PLEASE !! Police you lose the public support in the face of rising gun crime, yob culture..your answer GET em SPEEDING !!!

YOU want to sort your priorities out ....get rid of Bluecaps, get more police on the streets and make the streets safe...

GO to hell with your speeding tickets..cant you see how much you ailienate people !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO AND STOP CHILDREN BEING SHOT DEAD IN THE STREET WHILE THEY PLAY..WERE ARE YOU LOT OUT RESCUING BLUECAPS OR HELPING THEM DISH OUT SPEEDING AND PARKING TICKET..THAT IS THE TRUTH..AM GOING TO SEE MY MP !!!!!!! FUMING TAXPAYER That pays your wages !!!!!

Hello !!!

Case was concluded..3 points and fine..!!

COULDNT AFFORD A COURT BATTLE ...

That is what these people rely on ..that is you not contesting or having the money to challenge them. Whilst this state is maintained gun crime rises, and the streets are not safe !!!!

Wrote to local Police who had a Ch Insp reply..with some fair comments..and some which he must have copied out of a PR booklet for PCSO Bluecaps which spouted the usual Home Office rubbish...

YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WARNED ABOUT THESE BLUECAPS SO PLEASE TAKE NOTE.......

ALL WASTERS

I have told all who read this topic about our brush with those PCSO

bluecaps, bad enough they have nothing to do other than eat pies, walk

around in a mob, dish out tickets, get innocent people point s on their

licence ...tragically this describes how useless these people

really are, who would not go to the aid of children in these

circumstances !! ONLY PCSO Bluecaps !!

our experience with them cost us a few pounds, and a few points.

Time, and time again the we seem the money wasted on them...

Here is what the Police Federation think of the Blueys....and I quote:-

But, Paul Kelly, chairman of the Police Federation in Manchester said PCSOs are not capable of dealing with emergency situations.

He said: "The public are being fooled. We are sending people out there who are dressed as police officers.

"Every single police officer that went to training school with me 30 years ago left with a life-saving certificate of some sort.

"I don't know in this case if the two PCSOs could not swim but not swimming was not an option in our training.

"We've got to able to deal with all types of situations. We should do away with PCSOs because they are a failed experiment.

"In Greater Manchester we have taken on up to 400 PCSOs in the last 18 months but in the same period have reduced the number of police officers by more than 200.

"We should be investing in more police officers."

I told everyone this last year !!!!!!!! BIG si, and Mike where are you..I told you !!!!!

Home Secretary Sack the lot of em !!!!!!! does us all a favour

Another word of warning make sure you keep up your mortgage/rent

payments..PCSO Bluecaps cant rescue drowning kids .. but are

apparently allowed.. to kick you out of your home !

http://libcom.org/forums/news/pcso-stab ... g-eviction

they are turning the POLICE (REAL) into a laughing stock, they all look

like they have become Bluecaps after leaving "Dads Army"

I just laugh at them when I see em...pathetic ..would be funny but for the

cost of their wages to me and you the taxpayer....

SACK EM THE LOT OF EM !!!!!!!!! WASTERS ALL OF THEM !!!!!!!

lol Andy you are funny!

PCSOs helped catch you break the law and you got the appropriate punishment, they can't all be bad then!

As for the PCSOs that didn't jump into the a large lake to look for an probably already dead child, why did the parents let their 10 yr old and 8 yr old play in such a dangerous place on their own?

LOL you are funny !!! Mrs whatever !!!!!

The issue is not where the parents were..but what happened to the emergency services sent to help !!

You always blame others ..BLUECAPS are supposed to represent police..Great Job they are doing !!! we pay for Police to protect us if we are right or if we a wrong IT IS THEIR duty to protect LIFE !!!

Read what the Police Federation say..there words not mine..and ONCE again I have a clean driving licence since May 1982 ( 25 Years ) ... I WAS NOT THE ONE FINED !!!!

Are you a bluecap ??????

My wife who did have a clean licence for 20 years got three points and and a fine cos of these bluecaps ... in less than fair circusmtances !!

Our limited contact with the POLICE thanks to these Blueys leaves a bitter taste...kids being shot as they play in our streets .. and you have these resources tied up winding HONEST people up ..parking tickets, speeding oh come on for god sake...there are kids getting shot dead on our streets and all these blueys do..PARKING TICKET !!! WASTERS !!!

Would you say this if your child was the one in the water ??

if you have children..then I doubt it !!!

point is anyone would at least try to help...except for coward bluecaps !!

Are you A PCSO.. perhaps...you sound like one.. who said the child was already dead when the blueys got there ????

you a doctor as well ?? only a Doctor can pronounce death ..not some bluecap who cant swim .. and who hasnt got the balls to get in the water... shame on them !!!!!

I will ask again

PCSO = Police Community Support Officer .... so why the hell do they interfere with specialist work of Traffic Police ??? Speeding if we were Parking etc is not community support for god sake !!!!!

these people have nothing to do and are empowered to do little and can only do you for doing well very little ..complete waste !!!

Mrs whatever go to sleep !!!!!! please !

Im sure every other sentence you say about "kids with guns" and "kids getting shot dead on the streets". What are you on about?

"Read what the Police Federation say"

Im reading about what ONE person in the Fed says, its an OPINION. Other Fed reps don't seem to be saying the same!

"The issue is not where the parents were..but what happened to the emergency services sent to help !! "

Er... the emergency services were actually sent to the wrong location due to the original call... it was the PCSOs that radioed in to make sure they got to the right location... good work I say!

"My wife who did have a clean licence for 20 years got three points and and a fine cos of these bluecaps ... in less than fair circusmtances !! "

What was unfair? She was speeding!

"who said the child was already dead when the blueys got there ????"

Not me

Im not a "bluecap" by the way!

Does it matter that the child was probably dead?
Is is not worth getting wet for (say) a 1% chance of saving the kid?

They had to make a choice between ensuring that the appropriate help arrived asap or looking for a needle in a haystack (and possibly getting into trouble themselves and ruining any hope of saving the kid). Glad I didnt have to make the choice!

Its easy to criticise anothers actions (or inactions) without the relevant facts. I bet those two PCSOs will forever think "What if I did that?" due to the unfair press coverage of late
