It doesn’t appear you respect anyone in a position of authority
So what you are in authority, it does not mean you have respect. Respect is something, which you earn. Just because you have a job/position or role with authority DOES NOT entitle you to respect. It is how you use your “authority” which earns your respect, NOT the other way around. It concerns me you see yourself in authority and therefore should be respected; I hope that this is the exception rather than rule for people in your role. Which sorry to say I have little respect for.
Note I still have some respect for the police however it gets less and less every time I here how they have misused their authority.
Ree.t,
I completely agree with you. Respect is earned.
Obviously you don’t know me, or of my work within my community, my knowledge, my training, and more importantly, my results.
So I cannot expect you to ‘respect me’, though from a very young age we are taught to ‘respect authority’.
I respect you Ree.t, until you show me a reason not to, but that’s just the way I’ve been brought up.
Strangely though, you say ‘you still have respect for the police’, as a member of ‘the police’ I appreciate that comment.
If by ‘the police’ you mean, you only have respect for ‘police constables/PCs’ and exclude in that bracket (of people you respect) other Police employees – prisoner process officers, CSIs, civilian investigators, front office staff, PNSOs, PCSOs, radio controllers, police CCTV operators, civilian police dog trainers, police helicopter pilots and air observers, 999 call takers, prison van drivers, prisoner escort officers, prison officers, etc etc etc.
I take it you have no respect for any of these people?
