I need some advice. I have been stopped doing 79mph in a 40mph zone (dual carriagway). Whilst it was a dry day with no other vehicles and 5.30am in the morning I know it was unacceptable.

I had some doubts in my mind as to whether I was actually travelling at that speed as it did seem extremelly excessive but the Pro Lazer device that was used, registered the speed at a range of 965ft.

When I appear and plead guilty should I make some sort of statement about repenting etc.

I need my car for work and to see my kids (currently living spearately from my wife).

I have 3pts already on my licence from 2 yrs ago.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks

Is this the same incident as reported http://www.safespeed.org.uk/forum/viewt ... 894#143894 ? If so, are you the same person as Nsync? If so, please delete one of your profiles as dual registration is not permitted on this board.

If not, please accept my apologies for what are remarkably coincidental figures.

As for "what to do"... if you're repentent it can only help - if it's genuine.

Hardship mitigates fines, need of a car for oneself makes little difference. However, dependants living at a distance and your need to visdit them to assist with family members etc may swing things - although double the speed limit is rather asking for things, even at 5AM.

Hi

No I am not the other person on here...it appears they may not be guilty where as I am although I have doubts about the speed.

Any idea about the likely outcome e.g. fine or ban as I do need my licence to be able to visit my children.

Thanks
