I've just realised that on the letter it says I must respond within 28 days of the date shown on the letter (30th Aug) not the date I received it!

As tomorrow 27th is the final day in which I have to respond (the 28th day) will I still be within the time limit if it's posted tomorrow morning and they receive it Friday?

If not does anybody know the physical address for the Met Traffic Offence Office where I could personally deliver it.

Sorry for sounding foolish, but it's something I overlooked and I don't want to be caught out.

Thanx

I'm not sure if recorded mail records WHEN you sent it - only when it was received by them. Ask the post office for a proof of p[ostage and they should give you a certificate or receipt

Either will do.

There will be a lattitude in their receiving the paperweork to allow for the odd business week away, the delays in the post (both ways) etc. Do it first class and either get "proof of post" OR recorded delivery. The more likely accusation (if there is one) will be didn't receive rather than late receipt. They will not try to do you for a day or two late - and if they do they'd get laughed out of court for vexatious prosecution.

I realise this is a bit late, but call them!

The ticket will automatically roll over to prosecution, but they can "suspend" it if you ask them.

They dont want to go to court as it's hassle and loses them money, so they'll be quite happy to do so.
