Hi,

I am new to this forum and to the speeding ticket as well :)

My question is that is there any regulation which makes it compulsory that there must be cautions of speed camera (e.g. usual sign for camera or statement that this area is monitored by speeding cameras etc.)

The route on which I got a ticket has no such postings and was caught by a hidden hand held / police van camera.

Thanks
nms

Hi

There used to be 'rules' which governed how the SCPs/operators must act if they were to be be allowed to recoup money spent on enforcement sites. Site conspicuity/conspicuousness … the signage … was one of those rules. Unfortunately, their lack of adherence to those rules didn't invalidate subsequent prosecutions.

Regardless, those rules were abolished as of April 07, they are now regarded as mere recommendations.

Thanks for the reply.

Altough points are already endorsed and fine paid. Question was just to add to my information.

My personal openion is that it seems unjust that I did speeding probably once in 3-4 years and caught for the first time and on same road I see 100s of cars speeding on daily basis and they are not caught. It can be a bad luck but it also adds frustration against the system that all offenders are not equally treated.

Thanks any way.

It also proves that it is, in fact, just another revenue-generating exercise, as if it was truly dangerous, TPTB would find other methods of slowing these '100s of cars' down, don't you think?
