the police force have data about you on there computers and you can request data and information from them under The Freedom Of Information Act ...
They have to give you the information by law .

Are you sure it is not the data protection act you use?

There is a fee payable in most forces, whether or not they have information on you. In Cumbria it is £10

no its the freedom Of Information Act
im going through a fight at the moment with them regarding harrassement for over six years
but im using this and i had a reply to say it will be looked at buty they stalling for time .... they dont want to give it ... but they have to by law ......

ive backdated mine from the year 2000 to present day
some courts have this information also ....

trust me they dont like giving it .... no government do ..

They have to give a letter and contact you by a 30 day period

some places do it sooner than 30 days but 30 days is the maxium

if they dont reply to you within 30 day period then take up with a higher

organisation

Lock this too, in case somebody gets the wrong idea.

FoI requests have a 20 day response deadline - the response might indicate they need more time.

They are entitled to make a reasonable charge for retrieving and preparing the information. This can be many tens of pounds if necessary for a detailed search and report.

Data held on you by the police is excluded from FoI requests even if it is held, but you can make an application to view the data, under the data protection act.
There is a set fee for this, which is payable whether or not the force actually hold any data on you, so you have to pay even if you do not get a result.
