I have had 2 speeding fines and 6 points in the last year. I drive a transit connect and know about the speed restrictions on light goods vehicles. I drive 10mph below NSL. When I got my nips I thought I must have lost concentration and it was my fault.
recently I have noticed when driving past signs that show your speed that they always seem to show a higher speed, but not when I'm in my car. Yesterday I was stuck in a tailback behind a tractor doing about 15 mph. As we went through a village there was one of these signs showing the speed. The tractor and six cars went past before me and it read 16 16 16 16 16 16 and 19 as I went past, but I was doing the same speed as the tractor. Confused I turned around and tried again, I went through at 30mph and it flashed 35. Could it be that speed cameras don't like transit connects, has any one noticed this before, do speed camaras work the same as at 60 I could be clocked doing 70.

I would suggest getting a GPS unit and checking the speedometer is not faulty first.

Those signs are great at showing how accurate radar is.

I would also check with a GPS unit, and/or a "measured mile" if you know where one is.
