Hi,

Just wondering whether anyone knows how red light cameras work? Can the only take pictures from behind. For example do the cover traffic moving in both directions on single carriageway roads?

If the red light camera is on the other side of the road and you go through a red light can it still get you?

Cheers

The incriminating photo must take a picture of the signals to prove they were red. So to answer both your questions, no.

However the advice to go at a speed at which you're prepared to stop if the lights change, especially if they've been on green for a while, applies whether or not the lights are enforced.

Welcome btw!

Sorry if I seemed abrupt on your other post. It's just that we may be a little more "professional" from your "MOP" point of view on minor tirvialities - :wink: -= but we are Draconian here on traffic light offences.

Said it before = Murphy's law dictates they always change - especially if you are late for work :wink:

but :listenup:

Red = :stop:

Red and amber = :stop:

Green - You may go ONLY if safe to do so.

Amber = :stop: unless you are passing post when it changes or w:censored: r behind would collide with you if within a couple of metres when it changes...

Approach with caution .. as it they will change on you.

I call it driving to COAST per the marking scheme of our DIS cousrses, Ignore and you get our full wrath. We do more for inconsid#ate/careless than else where by the way. We have low fine return for "speeding" - but make up our "target" if you like on all the rest. :wink: :bunker:

Get the message folks? You hold Durham up as the "ideal" -

:yesyes: we are.

Cross us and we ain't! :twisted: We are actually tougher than most. And safer as a result :wink:

Wanna test us? Na .. thought not :hehe:
