You need to get you eye's checked! Or drive slower! Or both!

Is that satire again? You're quite good at it!

I concur. I hope you get fined if that's the case. One of my pet hates is people darting into bus lanes to avoid a queue. That and people who drive down the M602 in the middle lane past the normal 1-2 mile queue waiting to get on the M60 at rush hour, then try and indicate in at the last minute, usually causing another queue to form in the middle lane behind them as the people (rightly) don't let them in.

but if they did not .. the jam would extend to mancunian way? :scratchchin:

Wildy has been based at the Christie recently.. trialling something. She found using the ring road was a lot quicker

case of intelligent assessment

She's one sassy lady in every sense of the word. Why I fell in love.. truly .. madly.. and very deeply - even though she's threatening me with knob knackers :yikes: .. GULP! OK,.. so we had some fun .. got carried away and careless.. and .. errr.. ummm .. twins again. .. Ho hum. We'll cope.

When discussing public transport, London is very much a special case and lessons learnt there do not apply well to the rest of the country. I just wish our government would realise this

We admit not enough bays.

We think EU have it right.

Blue badger pay the same rate as able bodied ..who pay for 60 mins plus 10 mins grace. Disabled use wider bays .. pay for 60 mins plus 20 mins grace.

This makes sure bays have movement and clearance for others without draconian stupidity

We can learn lots from them foreign folk

I think it applies common sense and encourages responsibility and a sense of neighbourliness by being fair minded there.

Now if only UK adopted the same common sense..

yes London may be "different" .. so how come Paris.. Berllin and ohers in EU cope better

No it is irony - which is completely different from sarcasm. But thanks for the complement

What is the difference? Apart from the fact that the capital has a well established mass transit system. But that is something that every city can aspire to. :?

But not really achieve, there just isn't the money or the will to build something like the tube any more, plus the density (of people, buildings etc.) is a lot greater in London than in most other cities which have a lot more out-of-town facilities.

Bus lanes don't cause congestion.

A bus lane during rush hour conveys many many more people than the car lane next to it, certainly in London. .

Hahahahahahahaha. sorry, but you can't drive much, certainally in london- I've been stuck in that many mini jams created by badly implemented bus lanes leaving restricted space for the other 95% of traffic, and so very often, sat looking at one or several busses also stuck in said jam going nowhere.

Here's a classic, the old two lanes + 1 bus lane:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ie= ... 5&t=h&z=20

Bus lane southbound only. Cars queue up middle (southbound). Cars parked along Left (northbound). Cars and BUSSES going north cannot fit between southbound queuing cars and parked vehicles, so gridlock, while the space needed to relieve it is painted red and stood empty.
