Hello

I partly have a problem with this issue, but I feel I'm completely innocent as it regarding a a test drive at a proper dealer who gave me permission to do it. Turns out it could of all been dodgy as i don't have full comp insurance, and I went of on my own.

Anyway, i passed a police 4x4 and a set of fixed speed cameras, the car had no tax, the trade plates weren't visible on the back (not my fault didn't realise).

So I was wondering is it at all possible that there is going to be tickets sent to the previous owner, who will then pass it on to the dealer who will then have it passed onto me and then I won't be able to prove insurance at the time I was driving as I'm not fully comp?

So guys, obviously the most paranoid post you've ever heard. But still you can see the logic, can't you?

If you are taking a test drive, you do it on the dealer's insurance, not your own. Any tickets will go to the dealer, not the previous owner - assuming the paperwork has been properly completed, which any dealer worth their salt will do.

And speed cameras don't issue tickets for no tax anyway, so I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

OT alert, but do any ANPR setups flag up absence of MOT? Mrs Theboy was stopped by a :bluelight: days after failing an MOT, but a friend of mine has apparently been driving around with no MOT for quite a long time.

So does ANPR only flag up a failed MOT?
