Hello all - just had my summons through - lovely pic of me behind the wheel squinting against the sun - though suppose not being able to see speedo for sun in my eyes isnt an excuse!

Anyway, the pics show me overtaking a lorry but there are two points - 1 the road isn't straight, I'm driving around a corner, albeit a shallow curve not a tight one. 2) there arent any lines on the road - what do they line the camera up with to judge your speed???

Going to call solicitor to discuss how to proceed in the court but any further advice welcomed!

I take it from what you say that it was a mobile speed camera. If that is the case they do not line it up with anything the operator just forms the opinion that you are exceeding the speed limit, locks the red dot on your number plate with the cross hares lined up in the box and pulls the trigger if you are over the threshold speed limit then it records all your time distance, speed, date and picture. If it was a gatso then the usual guidelines apply,white corroboration lines across road etc and speed camera signs fixed on lamposts on approach (hopefully).
