Advice required please.

I just received a NiP which will take me to 9 (yes 9) points. I'm not a speed demon though! Honest!!
The 1st 3 were for doing 32 in a non built up 30 zone (mobile at the bottom of a steep hill - Cleveland Police), the 2nd lot for doing 35 in a non built up 30 zone (Gatso, Northumbria Police).

This one is for doing 'in excess of 50 mph in a 50 zone' (temporary bridgeworks, A19 Sunderland). My point is this. I thought they had to notify you of what speed you were clocked at rather than "in excess of.....".

Probably completely wrong on this but worth a try.
To say I'm bloody furious is an underexaggeration.

Cheers

There maybe others with more comprehensive information but I'm fairly certain that they don't have to specify a speed as the offence is to be in excess of the speed limit. I was recently in the car when a friend got caught on the motorway doing 95mph, and all the officer wrote in the offence section was "excessive speed", no mention of the actual figure.

Pretty sure they don't have to tell you the speed. I've heard of someone who wasn't told, then asked what speed they were caught at and got a reply.

Do you still have the NIPs for the 32/35 in a 30 ones?

You may want to check the PePiPoo NIP Wizard.

Oh, did you say Cleveland? Might be you are due a refund. ;)

Thanks. It was worth a try I suppose.

I just saw the news the other day about Cleveland Police and their illegal NIPs - TUT TUT!!

Robbing buggers have been going mad recently due to severe financial mismanagement (£7 or 9 million according to reports).

Go careful in the Cleveland force area.
