Icould have put this in the CW Wonder Food thread as it's linked - sort of.

This week's CW looks at the SAD syndrome. They say if you need a nap, find yourself dreading the long winter darkness, need more sleep in winter

:? :scratchchin: Animals hibernate.. so is this really a SAD symptom?

Overating?

Demotivated?

Lost sex drive?

No interest ioj anything?

CW reckons that by answering "yes" to more than three of these indicated potention suffering of SAD (seasonal affective disorder)

Personally, I just think we all feel just a little fed up with "short cold days" and long for the heady, balmy long warm days of the summer months.

But .,., if you are feeling low.. CW recmmends a short lunchtime walk or ride coupled with "Happy Foods" like sunny coloured citrus fruits  , oatmeal, leafy green veg, chicken, chocolate, bananas, which - per CW - contain something called "tryptophan" (Nature's won "Prozac" :?

For breakfast - CW's expert suggests oatmeal , boiled egg or avocado on wholemeal toast.

Lunch - tuna or oily fish with salad or jacket potato with chlli-con carne or good old cheddar, onions and dash of Lea& Perrins  :cloud9:

Dinner = salmon, turkey, chicken. couscous, carrots, spinach, broccoli, garlic, wholegrain, wild or basmati rice..

Snacks can include bananas, yoghurt, sunflower seeds, dates, Brazil nuts..

Basically much of the "Wonder Foods" thread

But .. why I opened up a different thread?

How many of you out there feel one of more of the SAD symptoms? Is i it mind over matter?

How far would you say this syndrome affected KSI given we seem to lose more people in the winter months on our roads?

(Paul - please feel free to shunt across the fora  if you think appropriate)
