Apparently a new Bill being proposed ny London Local Authorities and the Transport for London will aloow council offifials to remove bikes chained to railings, lampposts etc without any warning

The LCC London Cycling Campaign thinks this will



Ah.. come on .. LCC - they see income here.. cue the meter post for bicycles along with ID for cyclists and their bikes. Told ya Nowt to do with safety .. and if there's no cars and lots of bikes... they want their cash regardless

The measure is supposedly about removing clutter from London streets per the LLA /TfL

But if abandoned bike..



Under the proposed law - the officers will have to leave a note in place of the bike they have removed. Owners will have 14 days to reclaim the bike. After that the council can dispose of the bike and charge the owner for the cost/



But how will they do this - given bikes do not have to be registered..

Unless ..

I will bet moves to have cyclists register their bikes is coming around the corner


Told ya.

More bikes = more legislation = more rules = more enforcement of these rules.
