As said --bit of a ramble - but lessons for all of us - made me think a bit .
Till now , the only cyclists I'd seen around Nuneaton have been the chav type -( baseball cap on small bike , using pavement as auxiliary road )
Yesterday arriving at the island joining the "Ring road " from Attleborough --(bloke on bike - racing bars / wearing helmet - full gear ) in outer lane -me joining from left side . I wanted to get into outer lane - so accelerated a bit - at same time I got idea ( body language only that I saw )that he wanted to move left - only took a lift off throttle and he could move inside and I out.
At the lights turning left into Queens road he turned up again ( lizard brain had decided to look in nearside mirror and flagged him up ,trying to turn inside me ) -so I took the corner a bit wide to help him .
Next time I saw him - was on Tompkinson road - going uphill - this time he repaid the favour - made passing him very easy - but I always give bikes a lot of space on the overtake --and the nice thing - we both had a wave and a smile

Could be someone here - if so we both learned a lot that day . And next time I meet a PROPER CYCLIST I'll be prepared for manners on the road ( almost took me back to when I passed my test in BC >>>>,when it was an offence to upset a roman on horse )
