Next letter in thise week's "CW"

I guess we :bib: are getting well and truly clobbered in the press this last week.

OK the CW readwer got up early on August morning and it must have been the only Sunday when it di not RAIN HARD!

He decided to cycle a leafy lane in Lincs.

At the A16 neat Stickney .. oh dear. :yikes:

(No .. it was not a police car testing a doo-dah )

It was... a blue Mini driven by a little old lady ... nattering to her equally elderly passenger :yikes:

The reader intended to turn right. He checked behind him and positioned accordingly. There were 4 cars approaching him/.. one was the Mini.

The Mini :yikes: decided to overtake and missed this CW reader by "

I was going to leave it at that but why should this old lady come the nearest anyone has ever come to killing me? I go to the local police station. The note says "Closed until further notice!"

Ooops! Problem lies in on word against the other and always try to get someone to back up what you saw  or think you saw  We may not appear to take action - but generally we do call on hte person (resources allowing ) to advise of complaint and just give what we would hope to be a "tactful and pleasant chat" as this would be more helpful in such circumstances.

But seriously - th reader himself has the best adivce for all

If you venture onot a country lane in Lincs for a ride, look out for two old ladies in a blue Mini and steer well clear. It will be a lot easier than complaining to the police about them

Sorry - but we get hundreds of complaints .. and we do try to help the community as well as try to "catch real criminals"

Sorry to but in but. :D

I'm sure your force takes all calls extremely seriously but in other areas it is very different. :D

There was a recent incident locally where a pedestrian was hit by a car while she walked her children to school, on the pavement. Driver left the scene.

When she called the police with the reg. no. she was told to call back with the other driver's name and address!!!!!!!

Eventually a successful prosecution for driving without due care was brought, but only because of this lady's persistence. If she had taken the first answer as gospel then another criminal would have gotten away.

We shouldn't really get "no" for an answer from our servants though should we?
