The Rambottom Rake Cycle Event had to be called off this year. Only 21 cyclists signed up. They needed 35 to break even It's the first time it's hadtobe cancelled due to lack of numbers.

The event really tests out the ability on climbs.

The organiser says that as the even attracts cyclists from all over the country, it could well be that the rising costs of petrol meant that many just could not afford to travel
