Hi all (especially manchester contingent)
Not sure where this best goes but here will do for now.

Ironman time is this weekend for me up in sunny Bolton !
So i'm sat around this week twiddling my thumbs writing lists and polishing my bike !

Those that don't know this is a 3.8km swim in Rivington Reservoir, followed by a 112mile (3lap) bike and a marathon ending outside the town hall in Bolton.
My number is 1345 and you should be able to track my progress or lack thereof at http://ironman.com/ should you care to !

Locals be warned as I rode the bike course and some of the run last weekend and road closure warnings & signage was few and far between, something we motorists in this country arent very good with putting up with !
Here's the road closure info:
http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/environmen ... s/2040.asp
http://www.bolton.gov.uk/sites/Document ... 7JUL09.pdf

And for celeb spotters...
http://www.people.co.uk/showbiz/showbiz ... _page.html
7 hours at london marathon, that leaves 10hours for the swim & cycle then, call me a cynic

Ed completed the 2.4m swim in 1 hour 25 minutes and is now on the bike stage.

Sorry ed, I got to this thread late...

You're brill !! :D

I was good too in my day ya know! (Kinda thing an old man says when he's lost it...). But, TBH, at my best the swimming would still have let me down :( (I'm usless in water).

ed - a cycle to Birmingham would be a no-brainer for you, so if you're in town you're welcome to come by and I'll get the kettle on

Well done bud :D

Wish I was young again... :cloud9:
