Seconded, cycles are traffic and should be on the road/cyclepaths.

My top recorded speed on a pushbike ever was 40mph down Muswell Hill (A504). And I would regularly do over 30mph on A5 High Street Edgware between Station Road and Deansbrook Road (heading South-East).

But now I don't have a speedo, however I have attempted to trigger off the "slow down" sign on the A502 North End Road just past the Old Bull & Bush pub. I think I managed it once but it may have been the car that appeared behind me a few seconds later.

47 on road (peak district) although i'd stopped staring at the speedo by then!

42 off road... in very very ideal conditions!

hey I'm in 4th cat too and not just because I'm too lazy to drag my butt out to races. :)

90+km/h (I wasn't looking too closely for obvious reasons) descending the Col du Soulor amongst others. Closed roads are fun :D
