Turning Right :? :? :?

One of the most difficult ones for cyclists/.   :yikes:

As with driving you need to know where you intend to turn and it is LOOK SIGNAL MAONOEUVRE (LSM and PSL (position signal manoeuvre and COAST all working together as one safety message if you like.)

Look at the movement of the traffic ahead of you. Never ever swerve suddenly across traffic at too great an angle without planning and if you have to STOP at the left and wait for a gap. [ Your priority repsonsiblity is to yourself and you keep yourself safe at all times.

You do not do something to compromises anyone's safety.

So when should you start considering your change of position and how many times should you glance behind you?

Why should you note the antics of oncoming cars?

What should your position be if turning in a flow of traffic and if there is more than one right hand filter lane – which one should the cyclist use and whereabouts in that lane should or she is?

At a T-junctions – which is the best road position and why?

What should be your road position if you are turning right at the same time as another vehicle from the other direction?

Again - a lot of points to consider when making a right hand turn and to the board to give some common sense anwers as part of thei exercise is to get drivers as well as cyclists to just think about how their behaviour affects another road user.
