As follow up to thread in Motoring forum - ist also possible to have chidl seat on bike.
You have to shop around but they come in all kinds of colours und styles und some even recline so that little one can snooze
Some attach to rear cycle rack und others to top tube.
There are also trailers - we have one a bit like a pram which we attach to Mad doc's bike. He ist stronger than me.
on pedal pushing.
Unfortunately youngest kitten ist not too impressed und you hear us coming for miles!
As with the car seat - you have to make sure kitten ist securely strapped in und kitted out in VISIBLE warm clothing. Und you have to stop to have frequen picnics which also add to their sense of adventure und fun.
After all grumpy child ist pain in the proverbials!
Und we also sing und play spot the numpty games as we cycle as family.
Our kittens wear helmets und for youngest who ist in trailer und very rarely in the child seat - we choose one which protect her ears at this stage in her life as it offer bit more protection to her skull which ist certainly delicate as 12 month old tot.
As child head have to upright when wearing helmet - ist not a good idea to put child under 12 month in bike seat - und trailer - you cannot attend to a problem as you are not as aware as you would otherwise be. Perhaps some of the more seasoned cyclist/lurkers could come und join in on this und give their take on this issue?
She ist only now old enough to try this experience und we tried her out in September at 11 months und gradually increased her exposure during October und odd warmer days in November. We do not think we wish to do this to her when weather worsens in our area so unless we winter holiday somewhere warmer - she stay in car (which she likes so much more
Ist Mad Doc's riding - he ist not fast enough!
)
Our older children have to hear our instructions - so their helmets are standard fits.
There is also the fun trailer bike - und all our children learned to ride with us using these. Ist good as they have to pedal - ist a bit like a tandem und they feel important und grown up as they consider they are helping Mama und Papa ride! Also it help develop their road sense und awareness of other traffic from earliest age.
