Road Humps and Cushions
Ah,….those who support these clearly do not drive nor do they ride bikes!
Bicycle suspension is non existent compared to a car – so if you feel these things in the car – think how the poor cyclist feels when he goes over them!
Worn surfaces on them – they have to be the worst maintained of all surfaces once erected

– and they wear quickly because of the protrusions as well. In icy conditions – lethal to cyclists! :frurious:
Not only do they wreck a bike’s very delicate suspension system – they also cause the head set to wear,
So – approach in primary position – at gently steady pace and lift your weight off the saddle to minimise bike shock and – um shock to – your um – other pride and joy!
Cushions are supposed to "help" buses – not seen much evidence of this –

but for the cyclist - easier than the hump - just

– they can approach in primary position and simply ride between the cushions and move to a more appropriate position after passing them.
Not a great fan of humps - cause more problems than they seek to solve.
Bit like forests of speed cams really then!
