I'm sitting here - it's sunny but blustery and I am trying to decide when to go out on the bike and where to.

What I am really doing is assessing the pros and cons of various options. It's pretty windy from the south-west so I definitely don't want to go out in a north-easterly direction and get a head wind on the way back. If the wind is really bad I don't want to go out at all because of the risk of being blown into the path of a vehicle. Is the air-flow originating in the Arctic even though it is south-west here? I need to know because of the wind-chill - look it up on the website.
Is it going to rain? Because my gear is showerproof not waterproof and the grit that will be thrown up at this time of the year will compromise my brakes. Again look on the weather website.
It's going to be sunny all day and it rained last night so going south into the sun is pretty hazardous, something to be avoided - so I need to go generally west on the way out.
Is it likely to be icy? Not today.
