CW is now doing a nice little series on decent bike rides - this week - Richmond Park is under review with Michael Hutchinson. It's a 7 mile lap - and Mike says a 20 mph average is OK but most do the London fave at 17 mph. Has two easy climbs and it seems 20 mph is the speed limit for cyclists and Hutchinson says he's been booked and given an acid lecture for exceeding it :rotfl:

Oooh wot next? SPECS on cyclists in the Park ... :yikes:

However - there are some lovely memorables funnies in the piece

Hutch wears several layeres of clothing for his winter ride and wears a wooly cap under his siver helmet...

with all this padding Huthc is ready to lock horns with the London traffic.

This bit is an interesting comment for a cycling rag ... ooh - [i] relatively adept
- :scratchchin:

Watching a cyclist in the city is not t=for the faint hearted. The real truth is that London drivers are relatively adept at the wheel and very tolerant of comptetent cyclists Expereinced riders have a fox like cunning that they beam out like a force field on every ride. There is a price to apy and Hutch does have a few grey hairs ...

The piece goes of into a nice touristy spiel of Marc Bolan's roadside shrine and other areas of interest for the more minor celeb spotters before getting to the nitty gritty of the ride's technicalities and overall I would say they are trying to suggest a decent ride for the average rider to get some skills up here.

They also include a "Killer Climb" for those hardier types :P One Tree Hill - 14 degree gradient at Sevenoaks - requires a low gear from the bottom but a view the die for at the top  - apparently ....

They plan to do a medium and a killer ride per week - and of course - we all have our own faves...

Take with a chuckle or a grain of salt
Drive without COAST and it's all your own fault!

A SMILE is a curve that sets everything straight (P Diller).

A Smiley Per post

Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon - but driving with a smile and a COAST calm mind.
