So our youngest son now aged 5 years has been telling us that he ist now a big boy und does not need "sissy girly wussy stabiliser on his bike"
So - off we went to local play park areas und I watch with pride as our older kittens teach him to ride.
Actually - the ideal age ist 6 years .. our kittens have always been a bit precocious
Rule of thumb - if child can skip - hop on one foot .. ist sign he has the balance sense required to give it a go.
We warn Andrew that he might fall off. Lukas (aged 7 - his "partner in roguery" gleefully tell him that ist fun to pick the scabs later in the bath.

Jawohl - we have a right little "charmer" - not - on our hands

)
Interestingly our 15 year old foster son tells him to avoid breaking fall with his hands as this will hurt more.
Then I watch - with lump in throat as my baby kitten son turn into "mobile young man"
There they go - Nick holding handle bar to assist the steer und one had fixed to back of his jumper. He did not try to prevent the wobble - Andrew had to learn to balance.
Nick assured him that he would not let go until he was sure he'd be OK.
After several attempts - we were up the release handlebar assistance und just the holding to his jumper.... und before long - he ist riding unassisted.
Und then icing on cake - he even manage to use a left/right signal und stay balanced.
I am very proud of him und want to

SHOUT about it!
