Another amusing anecdote in CW. Chap's riding along in a race when something lands in his lap. He's in a middling bunch and thought a water bottle had broken loose and hit him. He grabbed it - it was warm and furry. Turned out to be a rabbit!

I once found a cat snuggled up inside a pannier once. (No not a wild one but a cute ginger tom. :lol: )


Unfortunately - he'd also taked a chewed up bird to bed with him. :(

Perhaps he'll have better taste in girlfrends next time :wink:

Did see a water bottle cover made from fake fur with the fur on the inside, the owner wetted it down and put the bottle in it and evaporation of the water held in the fur helped keep the bottle cool.

This was a little while before insulated bottles.
