The London Development Agency (per CW) has produced its long awaited report on air quaility for Rammey Marsh - the preferred relocation site for Eastway.
They say
Quote:
Pollution from the nearby M25 will have no adverse impact on hte health of cyclists
Cyclists are "up in arms" over this. Cycle circuit planned for Rammey Marsh is only 50 metres from the motorway and the readings were taken 1km away.
They also claim the relocation from the Olympic site to Rammey Marsh is too far for current Eastway users to reach (They'd s have to use a c-c-c-car to get there
)
THe LDA claim the air is purer at Rammey Marsh than Eastway appears to be under question because they tested 1 km away - at a point where housing and a motorway tunnel create a "shield" and CW's comment is that the whole reports is "illogical" They aslo point out that the M25 is due to get extra lanes as well.
They claim Eastway (by M11) is still cleaner and are opposing a move to Rammey Marsh on this basis.
(Um - the report was "peer reviewed"
)
Is this more opposition to "change" ?
