Does anyone know where I can get further info on the equation Steve Haley gives on the page of this site?

As he says, it is a simplified one, I want to look into it more and see the complex version.

I think it would lower a lot of barriers here if we could all be 'singing from the same hymn sheet'. He seems to be talking sense, his basic equation justifies low urban speeds, and constant, consistent speeds on more 'open highways'.

I hyave requested this on another thread, but it has been buried by other deviations.

Cheersy

NP

Think he has a web site. Where you can get hold of his book. Do not have as one of the fave sites on this particular machine... ist on the one in Mad Doc's den.

His work look like an interesting read though.

His website is here and the home page gives info on how to buy his book.

You can also order it now from www.amazon.co.uk for delivery in September.

There are some physical books available now. I'm trying to arrange supplies ahead of 'launch'. DON'T order it from Amazon and wait until September for your copy.

I've been working on it quite closely with Steve. It's a real leap forwards.

....looks rather similar to a H&S risk assesment to me.

risk level = severity * probability

hmm considering severity proportional to speed is ok, but not the only factor (road type?).

surprise as probability..... and normalised by space.. i guess space is part of the mitigation.

usually you'd take the risk level, decide if it was too high & put measures in place to reduce the risk to an acceptable level.

but i guess its an abstract thought equation anyway.... i want numbers dammit :D
