Cyclists who took part in Manchester and Bolton's contributions to Bike Week are being encouraged to "keep up the good work"

Events are to be held once per month to encourage people to adopt the healty option of riding a bike.

Every week these towns have been organising rides in the local parks for patients from the cardia rehabilitation unit and I gather NHS Trusts here in Cumbria are planning similar.

Each ride is about 40 minutes and the charity Cycling Projects is training council workers and staff from Primary Care Trusts, Diabetes Centres and Mental Health Programmes to become session leaders.
