From my sister and reported in a free advertising paper.
A Salford man took up cycling in May this year and has already clocked up 1000 miles travelling to and from Lymm in Cheshire - five times per week.
Rob Owen is 59 years old and in serious training. He plans to ride the Rhine from Basel, Switzerland to Rotterdam to raise cash for a care home for ex-servicemen. The home caters for WW1 survivors to those seriously injured in recent atrocities and "plays a very special role for the ex service community in the area."
Rob is a Falkland veteran and has just retired from the Army which he joined as a 16 year old - and served in Northern Ireland as well.
If anyone wishes to sponsor this guy - then phone Cheryl at Borughton House - 0161- 740 2737.
