Per CW

Buy a yellow jersey / green jersey and you "think you are a cyclist"      :rotfl:

Buy a jelly baby top :boxedin: Er ... Alice bought me one of these      It seems I use this when my itsby bitsy yellow polka dot thingy is in the wash..  and when I wear this I represent the middle aged overweight and not very refined male cyclist..

I thought I was sayin'it for the black "or off with 'is 'ead" jelly babe :?

"Peugeot" as worn by Simpson
- you do not have to be good to look good in this kit.

Me? I'll stick to me Assos and me "seee me hear me see me " garb! It's the unique take a second look garb and once seen -- never ignored

But you have to have the nerve and the guts to look like a "multicoloured parrot" Tell me - join in you lurks out there in particular - have you guts to do this?

For record - we welcome all cyclists to tell us how they feel on this site. It is a site where road safety issues are thrashed out. We welcome all opinions very warmlly and, apart from a littlye leg pulling and teasing, most her indulge in fair debate. If anyone does misunderstand a sense of humour - then speaking for myself and perhaps the Mad Doc - we are usually quick to clear up any misunderstanding both on and off line.

Sure we may indulge in some well meaning banter and jolliness - but we do not do pettiness. So any lurker who would like to join in - honestly - we listen and we trust we reply showing respect to you even if the reply is opposing and furthering the debate.

We want people to post up their worries and fears. If we can - we will try to give some constructive help and advice and even point to relevant chapter in "Cycle Craft".

The whole aim is to improve road safety and try to make people more aware of their responsibilities when using our road networks.

when i rode my road bike to work last year i'd get acknowledged by other proper looking cyclists....... until one day i wore my bright orange hi viz +reflectives.... and suddenly i was an outcast

now i'm on the commuting hack (with comedy horn) i stand no chance :D
(despite the fact my ride one way to/from work is probably longer than the evening ride they're on when they see me!)

Jesus!
Men have no place wearing Lycra shorts Black, Blue or otherwise.
It serves no purpose whatsoever other than to be visually f*****g repulsive.
Lycra was created for the female form only, remember this!!!!
Sexist? not arsed!
PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!

For me, that cycling gear is function above form.

Is it comfortable? Does it wick away moisture or does it leave me drenched in sweat? Does it make me well seen?

I unashamedly wear lycra. Anything baggy chafes after 10 or so miles.

I used to ride from Kendal into Liverpool (70 odd miles) twice a month for over a decade and somehow coped without Lycra.
At least try shorts over your Lycra.
