Per CW last week.. caught this small piece in which Harris (Ladylad's underling) gave a speech to the CTC in which he praised many of their initiatives but referred to the barrage of e-mail re. the proposed changes to the Highway Code which apparently annoyed our Ladylad.
Basically he warned the CTC that whilst they applaud their "green initiatives and work to get bums on saddles - sometimes they have to sayt "no" to some demands"
Apparently he has warned the CTC that they will not get all the things they are demanding and some interpret his words as meaning the "victory" of a mere 11,000 protests against a revised wording of the highway code was prematurely claimed.
We did post so..

It is not being anti-cycling and to be frnak I do not see that wording as anti-cycling or making it harder to claim off insurers. Those guys are in the business for the profit margin in any case...
Highway Code is about common garden common sense overall.. and nothing wrong in advising precautionary measures. Insurers will always seek to pay out lowest amount possible and reports of the incidents and probability/credibilty plus all measures to prevent are currently taken into account. The wording seeks to put into black and white what is already the case and perhaps being forewarned is forearmed.
As for helmets - I bought a really cool and trendy one in Austria. I see nothing wrong with wearing one and it does keep me dry in winter, cool in summer and as IG says .. no flies in my hair. (have dark hair with silver streaks.. some may be rude and call them grey.. but I call them silver!
