Sorry - but all cyclists must know about this one./ Hard to get rid of and sooner you deal with them the better!

OK .. so I read Roger Hammond's article in CW.

Now don't laugh .. this is serious stuff.. when he says don't shave the "bikini line" as it chafes and causes in-growing hair .. which can cause a boil! :yikes:

Hammond's advice .. well it is rather obvious .. wash your shorts!

Use an old fashioned flannel with old fashioned Savlon and soap.

Use haemorrhoid cream and then apply chamois cream to kill the bacteria and prevents any rubbing.

Hmmm. Better do this when we do that ride in Austria then ...

Ah... but help at hand from dhb who for £30 have produced padded lycra shorts. Lined and has chamois and soft material where it matters .. where flesh meets saddle!

if your shorts don't have a chamois then they're not cycling shorts...
for those interested here's what I'm talking about:'chamois'

just be warned that cheap shorts wear out a whole lot quicker than more expensive ones. I was a little upset at my assos bibs wearing out until I worked out they were over 2 years old. I never got more than 6 months out of cheaper brands.
