Emma Davies-Jones whose career nearly ended after a hit and run last October still found the time within her training schedule to raise cash to buy medical equipment to help others with sever spinal injuries.

Emma wrote:

I could not sit on my bottom and do nothing. People don;t think about something like this until it happens to them. I had to do something

Emma raised the cash by selling wristbands, a black tie event and an auction at her parents's home in Wales.

The money will help buy equipment which will make tricky spinal operations safer and avoid the danger of repeated X-ray (and thus danger) whilst in theatre.

Emma is now in training for a 120 kilometer road race in Belgium. We wish her all the best .. Go for it girl!

Having had the benefit of Hope Hospital's care, I have to congratulate her on her efforts.
The casualty unit always reminded me of the Paul Newman film, Fort Apache - The Bronx!

http://MarshesExperience.tripod.com has pictures from Hope hospital!
