But a bloke in a car coming the other way. He's stopped on our road as parked vehicles limit the width of the road, to let me get past. Just as he stopped, I noticed reversing lights on a Transit in a garden on his offside come on and van move. Only action I could take was to sound horn, and van stopped. I'd believe that courteous driver was not only in path of van, but in blind spot. Only preventative action I'd believe van driver could take would be to employ a banksman. Only action I could take to prevent a bang, was to sound horn and hope van stopped. I did stop and advise courteous driver of what I'd seen, and he was pleased. BUT in reflection, is there any other action I cold have taken. Personally, I believed the oncoming car missed the van movement, and only saw me at the last moment( a disease common on local roads), something I'm not prone to having driven on single track roads for over 15 years.
