Posting this in here as although it's not a near-miss topic it seems the most appropriate place.

This part of the forum is supposed to be somewhere that one can post a frank and honest account of a near miss or a collision in order to discover if they were in any way at fault, and if there was anything they could have done to avoid it should a similar situation arise.

However the last few times I've tried doing this "pratnership" - someone with a personal vendetta against me for no apparent reason - has responded by posting snide underhanded remarks.

This behaviour undermines the whole purpose of this forum. Because now if an "incident" occurs on the roads I don't feel inclined to post it on here. And hence a learning opportunity is missed.

This person wrecked the community forum for the town where I live by starting argument after argument with me, and then even after I left continued dragging my name through the mud when I wasn't around to defend myself.

The list of accusations against me from him is quite considerable, all of which are false.

So mods, can we do something about him before he ruins this forum as well?

Squirrel - stop worrying. I for one, and I suspect most of the community, are aware of the situation between the pair of you and read his posts appropriately.. And, to be fair, he isn't the only one who snipes you. You do come across as a slightly impatient and aggressive driver though it might well be that you are more honest than most of us.

dcb - I hope you're right! It could well be that I'm too honest at times. To coin a phrase I'll admit that I don't suffer fools gladly, that applies on the roads as much as elsewhere. I see someone doing something stupid on the road and I'm sat there scratching my head thinking "you bloody idiot".

Is that a really bad thing?

I notice that in his latest posting Prat has openly doubted your veracity or, as we say in Derbyshire, called you a liar. (Assuming the initial account was true - something I highly doubt )

This surely is a ad hominen attack which you should draw to the attention of the moderator

I shall make the following points:

This is a public forum which you choose to post your own driving expirences in.

It's an open forum for anyone to post, as long as they abide by the forum rules. This allows commenting on by others on your self described expirences.

The ignore function is there for you to use. You claim to have used it, yet have not.

I do not post anything untrue.

I do not 'bait' or troll.

I am here, admitted right away, to try and point out the flaws in your driving because I am extremely concerned for friends and family located in the town where you live.

I think your driving attitude desperately needs changing, and hope that other expirenced members here can help you see this.

Your claim about any other forum is completely untrue. You have been banned from the one in question over 3 times from different user accounts due to entirely your own actions. Again, I stress that this should not be posted in here, and hopefully the mods will delete and lock it, as it's not fit for the forum.

In future I suggest you use the post report button, and then the mods can sort out anything they think is out of line quietly and without others having to read offtopic posts on this forum.



dcbwhaley - Thats because I have known the truth to be different on so many occasions. The most recent being that I was apperently on ignore.

I know squirrel personally, and when been asked about events he previous posted about (how motorways work, the town forum etc) different accounts have come about, it depends which forum you look at.

There is also a number of things which are different but as they involve personal details I wouldn't put them on an open forum.

My opinion is that he doesn't realise what he's doing. For example the latest one - I think he was doing far faster, resulting in the cutting up and angry woman actually stopping to berate him.

This, is ad hominen :

Not me, whom open says I do think the initial account was true. I do not know how much more open I can be.

What is the point of going with every point of the initial account and trying to point out other potential flaws (Zafira woman being to close and getting angry as a result) when you think the problem lies elsewhere?

Without him realising this, it will carry on until something bad happens.

In my opinion, Safespeed is NOT the place to "point out the flaws" in someone's driving you have experienced in the real world. Kindly take it elsewhere, as I don't know what you hope to achieve by airing your views. It's hardly likely that the rest of us will ever meet either of you.

Then perhaps I am in the wrong place, because I thought safespeed was all about safer driving. Besides, all instances commented upon are from his posts, here or elsewhere. I can't fathom the logic anyway, since posts on here are from realworld events!

But it's well worth saying that you, and most other regular members do exactly the same. Only difference here is that I know his attitude.

I could have pointed out all the other things which backs this up (along with links). I could have easily refuted to personal things.

I have done neither, yet have not complained about him using my name, saying totally untrue things about he personally, and yet am made out to be the villain.

I have less driving expirence, but yet do not race on public roads, nor do I do 170mph+ on them. Nor do I deliberatly brake in front of people whom have annoyed me.

People supplying answers like the zafira woman was maybe too close, and maybe thats why she was ranting at him is just supplying excuses.

I might as well take my leave, since making him change was the only reason I am here. But I'll make this crystal - he is going to have an (other) accident at some point if the attitude does not change. And it'll be someone else's fault, be it a car driving on the other side of the traffic islands (this is actually bunkum, since recently I found out what actually happened - but again, no personal things allowed on the forum!) or someone driving to slow. I don't want it to be anyone I know. Selfish in the extreme, but there we go.

Oh, this just gets better and better. Come on then, what did you hear? Verifiable sources please, not just "your mate down the pub" or "the voice inside your head".

Now, regarding other forums...

How Motorways Work is an out-and-out spleen venting forum. You cited posts I'd made in the "Rants" section. Of course they're going to be "sexed up" - this is the whole point of a ranting forum.

Now I'll state some facts here:

Yes, I've driven at high speeds on a virtually empty motorway in the early hours of the morning in dry conditions.

Yes, I once made it from south Gloucestershire to Plymouth (135 miles) in 1 hour 15 minutes - because someone I care a great deal about had been beaten up on her way home from a party. Again this was around 4am. This isn't something I do regularly - neither could I afford to as that trip flat out used half a tank of diesel. Normally home to Plymouth takes just under 2 hours and uses 1/4 tank (65 litre tank).

Yes, I've driven at 155mph on a motorway. A closed off motorway. As part of a training exercise.

On the town forum Pratnership (posting as Mr_B) accused another poster (ORly) of harbouring a large collection of child pornography, simply because the poster ORly stated that he knew ways of hiding files from law enforcement. I believe the discussion in question related to material that could be either misconstrued as terrorism or material that falls under the new "extreme pornography" laws. If memory serves ORly's point was that "if the act depicted isn't illegal then the image shouldn't be illegal". Pratnership's response (as Mr_B) was to state that he believed ORly was harbouring kiddie porn.

Why is this relevant? Because Pratnership also stated that he believed ORly was me. (Which is untrue, I do have other aliases on that forum but none that I post under.)

At this point the moderator stepped in and told Mr_B that if he did not apologise he'd be banned. He refused - and indeed was banned. His next move was to pursue me onto this forum to continue his vendetta.

As I stated in the original post of this thread his actions ruined the community forum and he won't stop until he's done the same thing here.

(Mods - feel free to move this to the soapbox forum, I started it in here as that's where the arguments were starting but it may be better in Soapbox, that's the place for rants after all.)

The point, pratnership, is that no-one else is interested in your (slightly stalker-ish) vendetta. I have never commented on any other Safespeed user's driving (I've only ever met two fellow members, and we were inside a pub!), and I never publicly would. What purpose would it serve?

Squirrel (sorry, chap) is clearly not without his faults as a driver, but in his defence does actually air his laundry on here for all to criticise. And bear in mind that when people say "Maybe you shouldn't..." and "Perhaps you should...", they are just being polite. To be honest, IMO if it wasn't for you having a go at him, he'd probably get a lot less sympathy here than he currently does, so your efforts are quite probably counterproductive.

Have you considered http://www.betterdrivingplease.com/? That would seem like a very apt place to take this pursuit, and I think you'll fit right in.

You are the first to complain to the mods if any personal details are given out, such as licence no. or friends names. I can tell you in a PM if you wish.

That was you, as admin confirmed (and hence you were banned for a third time). I also did not state that, I commented it was very odd that you knew exactly what programs the police use to extract data and how to circumnavigate them. A fact made odder by you claiming you know because the police outsourced work to third parties. Which they certainly do not in such cases. Provide a link where I did accuse you from that (or any other) forum.

You make wild claims, like I destroyed a website, and accused people of various things, yet provide no links or evidence. I can back almost everything up (everything if you consented to personal details being posted), so do not make me out to be the liar here.

I have locked this topic and I have suspended Pratnership for two weeks (until Monday 5th January).

As stated before, this forum is not the place for personal vendettas and it seems to me that Squirrel, although not blameless, is more sinned against than sinning in this case.

If Pratnership, once reinstated, posts any more personal remarks I won't hesitate to terminate his account.
