So I'm driving through Swindon on Friday night. Nice wide residential road with hatched central bit. Cars are parked off the road. There's a 40mph limit in place. Up ahead there's a roundabout and, what's that yellow thing on the side just past the roundabout? I wonder. Check my speed, it's below 40. Still not sure what the yellow thing is.
Check my speed again. Oh f*ck, the roundabout - and someone's pulled into it from the right. Two fortunate things here. One - the other driver was awake, saw that I might not stop and stopped himself. Two - my brakes are good and I pulled up well before the stop line.
Now what was the cause of this? Well apart from my stupidity in getting distracted

it was a BUS Shelter with a lit, bright yellow advertisement. I wonder who thought that was a good idea?
