Just thought I would add a my two pence worth.

Looking at the video on the North Wales site the reckless action was the using of the hard shoulder. What were they thinking - it is full of debris and not good for the tyres!!!

More seriously, I did not see any car driver have to alter their course or speed to avoid the riders and the coach was actually still indicating right, so had no intention of moving into the left hand lane!

It was not very long ago that the Government was proposing changes to the law to allow 'undertaking'.

Yeah, because of the lack of TrafPol which if there were some, might encourage drivers to keep left except when overtaking...

So if you can't cure a problem, change the law...

If I'm being honest, I regularly pass on the left on motorways as there are sooooo many middle-lane (and outside lane) hoggers that won't (can't?) move over... :roll:

Actually, thinking about it, perhaps that's a power that could be given to HATO's? Getting HATO's to get drivers to move over? But then maybe that's the thin end of the wedge. They'll next be enforcing everything else... Perhaps not.
