It's only 'useless' because unless you can prevent the air escaping from the Unit, you will never get the Unit brakes off. Hence kinking the line and securing with a cable tie, or, if it has teared at the union at the back of the cab, a bit of split pallet hammered in should block it sufficiently to be able to move.

Just like to say that there is 'No way' I'd like to be anywhere near a 10 mm dia peice of split pallet when it gets launched from the union under 6-10 bar air pressure.
