this mentions having 'sufficient fuel' ...

I cannot - as yet find a law that states that it IS illegal - but I shall keep looking ....

The only references I have seen to the legality of running out of fuel are requests that it should be made illegal, as it already is in New Zealand.

Unless the car stopped in a dangerous position? Would they be able to use Driving Without Due Care and attention or some other law?
