Massively flawed, but entertaining (copied from a PH thread):

I got: You scored a 80% (A)! Your driving level is: very safe

81% here. And I did try to be honest rather than just ticking the "right" boxes :)

"How dangerous of a driver are you"?

:x

How grammatical a website designer are you?

72%

And I did say "yes" to being done for DUI (it was 20 years ago in my defence)

Just out of curiosity, when asked "how would you rate your driving" I put "reasonably skilled" on the basis that I have read (and absorbed) RoadCraft and IAM manuals.

What did other participants put????

Average. I make way to many very minor errors, that I recognise, to be above average. In knowing that I make errors and what they are I can improve. However until I stop making them I will always be, at best, average.

79% B A little risk

though I can make that 84% (A) by saying that I would brake for a traffic light -

Standard figures are 40mph = 80ft stopping + 40ft thinking = 120ft, so if the light ambers at 75ft the test reckons braking is a good idea.

I think not.

I may well be able to stop in time, but I would not want to bet on a car behind doing so.

It could be it is a little more subtle, I would tend to slow on the approach anyway so would not be doing 40mph, possibly that is the point.

91% here, and honest answers. (I studied Roadcraft in a 'previous occupation'!)

But I agree, the grammar detracts from the authority of the website/test.

The website was probably designed by a university "graduate". :)

Should we have something similar?

Rather than give a score it could provide some tips and links to further information. The questions could be based around COAST principles for instance.

I scored 78% (B), but then some of the questions warranted more than just a yes or no answer, which is where experience comes in, I believe, in that in many scenarios whether you stop, swerve, speed up, etc depends on a number of other factors at the time.

Driving is not an exact science as what is going on around you is constantly changing and is never likely to be exactly the same again!

PS: I don't believe that anyone can, hand on heart, say they never make a mistake when driving, no matter how experienced. After all, to err is human. Experience, however, does often help get us out of any situations that our errors may have created, although most are likely to be so minor, it is only ourselves who notices the error!

Pah, it's all rubbish. It said I presented 'a little risk' - or something.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Fair enough. And I was honest.

I was honest too. 85% "Very Safe".

I thought the question about adjusting the stereo should have mentioned whether or not in you car it can be done using controls on the steering whwwl withouttaking your eyes off the road or not. I often make adjuctments, but only using the steering wheel controls - this is very different to changing a CD manually using a slot in the centre of the dash for example.

It becomes 90% if also answer No to all other drivers being slow. I do not think all other drivers are slow just some of them, many I consider to be driving too fast.

Of course I may do 50 on the straight and 30 in the bend rather than 40 all of the time so some drivers are both imo. :)
