56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing

Perhaps they think with it being such a small 'rollerskate' (small car) that it won't be 'noticed' ?
Perhaps I should start a page showing all bad parking by all enforcement vehicles and equipment ....

Looking at the end line for the dbl yellow line it looks like it is invalid as it barely exists ... You can see a bit of it near the grate but it should still be seen further past the post and the electricity/BT box... in the picture -

:welcome: mumra Thanks for the image link :)

Hope that's not the photographer's big white opposite???? I've bolted the videa cam as of now inside the car to capture a few nice pics to add to my 'gallery' of the pavement parking cowboys here in Notts. Any one complaining about this attitude to the partnerships does not get far as they retort 'they' are exempt from breaking the 'LAW'. I found it interesting to read the article by an advanced driving Instructor and an ex Cop saying in an article that he thinks it's deplorable re the Double Standards of these so called 'Safety Organisations'. As regards the excuses he said do they think we are silly ??? Even if they don't think we are silly --they still do and will continue to TREAT US as if we are silly unless we do something positive about this ludicrous despicable unjustifiable treatment.

Don't be silly. If we use the logic proposed in another thread, it should only be necessary to adequately indicate the parking restriction. There is no need for the authorities to comply with any signage regulations.

Hi everyone - thanks for the warm welcome! :hello:

There will be a CCTV video somewhere of the cameraman taking pictures!

http://www.cardivision.co.uk/content/smart-cctv-0

Did a bit of digging around and it seems this is all perfectly legal. And there was me thinking double yellows were there because it was unsafe.

Another bit on the position of the "safety" car - apart from his position on double yellows - his proximity ( IMHO) to the vehicle behind him would ( I would suggest ) make if difficult/impossible for the other vehicle to get out -adding possible obstruction to his list of crimes .

And then

Thought you'd like the idea of a periscope , take you back to former times . :D

:D indeed I forgot - the Law unto others is to not do as to themselves ... ;)

The response from the Lambeth Council official is incredible in its illogicality:

Quote:
A spokeswoman for Lambeth Council said if the cars were not able to park in spots that are illegal for other vehicles, they would not be able to maintain road safety or keep traffic moving using the cars

The view of the council ( still gnashing their teeth as the can't get decrim of parking in) in this one ,could be serous ,but for the numbers involved

http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/News/Dri ... e-blow.htm

We're getting a SECOND yellow peril  .
Trouble is that most of the yellow lines seem to de in as a bad a state of repair as the roads .

Just like if PC Savage didn’t chase Wheelspin Willie at 120mph he wouldn’t have been able to catch him to arrest his bad behaviour.

You will be branded a threat to society by going over a speed limit where it is safe to do so, and suffer the consequences of your actions in a way criminals do not, more so than someone who is a real threat to our society.

Seeing this reminds me of the time when the olde yellow Beryls had mopeds .In those days ,I also remember that ( as a service engineer working town centres)-you waited for one to appear ,told them what you were doing/how long and asked for a good spot to park .Done nicelt and diplomatically ,they'd use their discretion ,write a note to put inside windscreen ,and walk away shocked that a motorist had actually been nice to them .Found it still works on our local one .

Nothing new there then, fancy that, rules being broken be those entrusted to enforce those very rules, tsk tsk whatever next!!

TBH I've never had much of a problem with traffic wardens. I used to work as an HGV driver delivering to city centres and if it wasn't for the wardens I recon my job would have been completely and utterly impossible. People will park anywhere without any consideration for anybody else, if I had a pound for every time Iv'e heard "I'll only be a couple of minutes mate" when they've just abandoned their car on loading/unloading only places I'd be retired by now. They same folks don't even seem to understand why I got a tad upset about their unwillingness to move .. their couple of minutes can easily translate into 20 minutes plus for me to drive round again, and when I get back there will be another "couple of minutes" car parked .... gggrrrrrrrr!!!!

So, to all the traffic wardens out there (with one exception), specially the ones in Glasgow city centre with a special mention for Kilmarnock .. a great big thank you from me :0)

Oh ... the most useless traffic enforcers in City Centres .... motorcycle traffic cops. I've never come across such an arogant unsympathathetic bunch in my life .. not time for them at all myself.

 to Zippo - seems that the be nice approach works on them all .I worked under the theory that since most motorists were nasty to them ,being nice made you stand out ,and found that little spark of humanity in them .
